The four types of respiration are:

Pulmonary Ventilation which is commonly referred to as breathing. It is the process of air flowing into the lungs during inhalation and exhalation.
External respiration which is the exchange of gases between the external environment and the bloodstream.
Transport which is the transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the lungs and tissue
Internal respiration which describes the gas exchange between the bloodstream and the tissues.
