Prof Vijay Sangar is an accredited consultant urological surgeon providing expert comprehensive unbiased urological care. He trained in Manchester, London and Strasbourg; he is now a consultant urologist across the South Manchester area, in addition to holding a post as Professor of Surgery at The Manchester Academic Health Sciences Centre (University of Manchester). He has held prestigious positions including Director of Surgery at The Christie, Chair of NHS Englands Specialised Cancer Surgery CRG (current member), Chair of eUROGEN EC Reference Network for rare cancers (current). Prof Sangar specialises in penile conditions, including cancer, as one of the lead clinicians in the UK. He has an interest in penile surgery which includes elements of reconstructive work and sexual dysfunction. Prof Sangar also manages bladder and prostate conditions. He is a member of the Pelvic Oncology Team and the Sarcoma Team at The Christie Hospital. In addition to this, he has a significant general urological practice for all benign conditions.
