Mr Nikhil Vasdev is a Consultant Urological Surgeon, skilled in general urology and renal stone surgery, and with a specialist interest in Robotic Urological Surgery and Surgical Urological Oncology. Mr Vasdev isthe first UK nationally accredited Robotic Fellow by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Association of Urological Surgeons. Mr Vasdev specializes in the diagnosis and management of Urological Malignancies, (Prostate Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Testicular Cancer and Retroperitoneal Malignancies). Robotic, Laparoscopic and Open surgery. Robotic Prostatectomy, Robotic / Open Cystectomy, Robotic Intracorporeal Ileal Conduit formation and neobladders formation, Robotic Partial Nephrectomy, Robotic Pyeloplasty and Robotic / Laparoscopic Nephrectomy. General Urology, Renal Stone medical and Surgical management including laser surgery, urinary tract infections, infertility, vasectomy, vasectomy reversal and incontinence. Mr Vasdev is an honorary clinical visiting lecturer in Urology at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine at the University of Hertfordshire and is a Clinical Tutor in Urology at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh / University of Edinburgh. Mr Vasdev is the clinical lead of the Lister Robotic Urology / Vatikutti Robotic Foundation, USA. Mr Vasdev has published extensively, over 100 peer-reviewed articles, 150 abstracts, 10 book chapters, written 2 textbooks on Urological Cancers and is on the editorial board of 4 international urological journals. He is also a reviewer for high impact factor journals including "The Lancet" and "The British Journal of Urology International". Mr Vasdev's current research interests focus on the early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of prostate / bladder and kidney cancer patients, identification of biomarkers in high-risk prostate cancer patients, enhancing recovery / quality-of-life issues in patients with prostate, bladder and kidney treatment, robotic nanotechnology and development of robotic intra-operative haptic feedback sensory technology. Mr Vasdev's Urological surgical training includes his basic surgical training at the National University Hospital, Singapore and Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. He then completed a 6 year Higher surgical training in Urology in the Northern Deanery, Newcastle Upon Tyne, and robotic fellowship training at the Lister Hospital and City of Hope National Medical Centre, USA.
