Education:

John Davies attended Bishop Gore School, Swansea in South Wales and studied medicine at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, London. During his undergraduate training, he attained a BSc Hons degree in Pharmacology before graduation with MB BS, following which he commenced his surgical training. He attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1985 and subsequently undertook a Research Fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research, London. His research involved the development of novel agents for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. During this period he also collaborated with The University of Maryland, USA as part of his research. He also attended Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and the M.D. Anderson Centre in Houston, Texas. His urological training consisted of rotations including St George’s Hospital, the Middlesex Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital and prior to his appointment as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford (1994), two years at the Institute of Urology, University College, London.
