Education:
I trained at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School and qualified in 1984. I was a Research Registrar in Rheumatology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. I then trained as a Senior Registrar in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre at Oxford. Here I was able to see a full range of rheumatological problems, and in particular, we had a very active sports injury clinic. In 1994 I was appointed to my NHS post at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Welwyn Garden City. My post included running the Rheumatology service for both the QEII and Hertford County Hospitals. I also have responsibility for the rehabilitation unit called Danesbury Home in Old Welwyn.
