After qualifying in 1989 I underwent a structured postgraduate training in general medicine for three years. I later went on to train in Rheumatology at Manchester, Wrightington, Northampton and Leicester. I also completed a part time postgraduate MSc course in Clinical Rheumatology at University of Manchester. During my training I won a travelling fellowship from The British society for Rheumatology and a travel bursary from the European Rheumatology Society EULAR. I have developed a special interest in ultrasound in Rheumatology and undergone training at the University of Ancona, Italy under Prof W Grssi. Currently run Ultrasound synovitis clinic to detect and Treat Rheumatoid arthritis Early as per Treat to Target principle. My special interest extended into Inflammatory back pain, where there been a delay of diagnosis up to 8years in UK. I run tertiary level clinic for diagnosisng and treating Inflammatory back pain (Ankylosing spondylitis ). We also run Combined Eye and Joint clinic (one of the service run very few centre in UK).
