I qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1995, obtaining MRCP whilst doing senior house officer posts in Bristol and London. My specialist training was in Oxford, where I carried out research into the cardiovascular effects of sleep apnoea at the Oxford Centre for Respiratory Medicine, and was awarded my MD in 2008. I was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010.
