Mr Raijv Bajekal is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in spine/back related problems. He trained extensively in orthopaedics in India at the Premier Medical School, and in the United Kingdom. He has a very busy NHS and private practice in North London primarily dealing with low back pain and lumbar spine problems, trauma, and lower limb arthroplasty. His private practice mirrors his NHS practice. Mr Bajekal was Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust between 2006 and 2009. He is an MBBS examiner, lectures nationally and internationally and is an invited lecturer on the Conference Plus program for general practitioners. He is member of the Council for the Orthopaedic Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, and teaches at various meetings and conferences locally. Mr Bajekal has many publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and is currently an editorial reviewer with the journals Injury and The Bone and Joint Surgery. He has also contributed book chapters to published medical textbooks.
