Mr Godfrey Charnley is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in hip and knee surgery at Springfield and Broomfield Hospitals in Chelmsford. He has been a consultant since 1995. He was previously a consultant and senior lecturer in orthopaedic surgery in Plymouth at Derriford Hospital and the Plymouth Postgraduate Medical School. Mr Charnley trained in London and Bristol and has completed international fellowships in trauma and lower limb surgery in Switzerland, Paris, France and the US. He is also an examiner for FRCS Orth Diploma and formerly a regional clinical coordinator for the National Joint Replacement Registry.
