Mr Bache qualified from Birmingham University in 1990. His Orthopaedic training was on the West Midlands training programme where he developed an interest in Children’s Orthopaedics and in particular disorders affecting the paediatric and young adult hip. He gained FRCS (Trauma & Orth) in 2001 and subsequently spent a year at The Royal Childrens Hospital Melbourne. He was appointed as consultant to Birmingham Children’s hospital and The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in 2003. Mr Bache performs a full range of procedures for complex paediatric hip conditions including Developmental Dysplasia, Slipped Upper Femoral Epiphysis and Perthes disease. He also performs joint preserving surgery (osteotomies) and hip arthroscopy in adults for hip Dysplasia, hip Impingement and sports related hip disease. Mr Bache has an active interest in research and developing new techniques. He has more than 20 published articles in peer reviewed journals and has edited a text book on children’s fractures. He is a member of the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery (BSCOS).
