Ali Narvani completed his medical training at Guys and St Thomas’ Medical school in 1996. He then went on to do his basic surgical training at St Thomas’s and Whittington Hospitals. This period was followed by his higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics at the North West Thames SpR rotation working at various hospitals including Chelsea & Westminster, Royal National Orthopaedics and St Mary’s Hospitals. Following this, he undertook two fellowships in Shoulder & Elbow surgery. The first of these was under Andrew Wallace as the Paul Calvert fellow. The second was at the renowned Reading Shoulder Unit working under Stephen Copeland and Ofer Levy. In December 2010, he was appointed consultant orthopaedics surgeon at Ashford & St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust. Ali has published extensively in fields of orthopaedics and sports medicine. He has over 20 “medline” publications. He is also an editor of a text book in sports medicine and is working on his second textbook in shoulder surgery. Additionally he has authored a number of other book chapters.
