My vision is to provide a top quality comprehensive glaucoma, cataract and general ophthalmology service, including laser and surgical management of complex glaucoma cases. I have vast experience in the state of the art techiques of Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery, which offers effective treatment with the least possible risk. I am particularly interested in the latest advances on modern small incision cataract surgery, correction of astigmatism and intraocular lens implants. After my Specialist Training, I completed a two year Fellowship in Glaucoma in Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, during which I obtained advanced clinical and surgical skills in the field of glaucoma and cataract. I have completed my specialist registrar training in Ophthalmology in the Northern Deanery, between Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. During this time I gained extensive training in general ophthalmology and developed a particular interest in glaucoma and cataract surgery through clinical experience, research and teaching. I have been awarded the Higher Degree of Doctor of Medicine from Newcastle University in 2007 for my research in the field of Glaucoma Genetics. I attend and present regularly at national and international meetings and have published a significant number of articles on peer reviewed journals as well as book chapters.
