Mr Hanspal MB ChB (Edinburgh), BSc (Hons) MA FRCOphth is a fully accredited registered Consultant in Ophthalmology at West Suffolk Hospital with a sub-speciality interest in glaucoma and cataract surgery. His training has seen him placed in A&E, Neurology and a tertiary referral centre, from this experience Mr Hanspal has gained comprehensive training in all areas of Ophthalmology. The first ophthalmology post Mr Hanspal held was at Torbay hospital in 2004 followed by the West of England Eye Unit, Exeter. He commenced ophthalmology training in the East of England in 2008 and worked in both Addenbrooke’s and the Norfolk and Norwich hospitals. Mr Hanspal’s sub-speciality interest is within the field of glaucoma. The surgical and laser procedures that Mr Hanspal is experienced in includes; glaucoma drainage procedures and selective laser trabeculoplasties, essential in the management of glaucoma. His extensive experience of glaucoma specialist clinics in both teaching and district general hospitals has allowed him to develop key skills that are critical in managing chronic sight threatening eye conditions such as glaucoma.
