I am a consultant ophthalmologist with a sub-specialty interest in medical retina and uveitis. I carried out my training in Bristol and Cheltenham as well as visiting fellowships in New York and Washington. I am a Royal College of Ophthalmologists college tutor for the Bristol Eye Hospital, honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Bristol as well as lead co-ordinator and teacher for the ophthalmology undergraduate teaching programme. I am currently lead for the macular degeneration service at the Bristol Eye Hospital, and advisor for the ophthalmology content of the British National Formulary (BNF). I also provide ophthalmology opinions for both the BNF and the children's BNF. I have completed various post-graduate qualifications. I am a fellow of the higher education academy and continue to be actively involved in teaching of ophthalmologists, in addition to allied health professionals.
