I have been a Consultant Neurologist for 16 years, combining a busy full time practice in General Neurology with a sub specialty interest in Multiple Sclerosis. I am Deputy medical Director at the West Suffolk Hospital Foundation Trust, with an important role in improving the quality of patient care, both in Neurology and across the whole Hospital. My work in these roles has been recently recognised with the highest level (9) local Clinical Excellence Award. I am passionate about providing a high quality service to my patients, from the moment of referral through to long term care, and patient feedback suggests I achieve this, with consistently outstanding patient feedback. I am passionate about holistic care and have developed expertise in the use of therapeutic hypnosis to treat a range of Neurological Disorders. I have completed training through the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis and have an Advanced Diploma in Hypnosis, Stress Reduction and Communication Skills through Birmingham City University. I also utilise mindfulness based techniques given a wealth of accumulating evidence that they have a useful role in managing long term neurological conditions I work closely with GP Colleagues, Neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, specialist nurses and clinical psychologists to provide an integrated and seamless service for patients with Neurological Conditions Areas of interest Headache / migraine; Multiple sclerosis; epilepsy; Parkinson's; the use of clinical hypnosis
