Dr Jaimal Kothari is a consultant haematologist based in Oxford. After obtaining a first class degree in Medical Sciences from Peterhouse, University of Cambridge, he completed his medical training at The University of Oxford. He subsequently worked in London, completing advanced haematology training at University College Hospital, London, including an advanced fellowship focused on the comprehensive treatment of myeloma and related conditions. Dr Kothari currently specialises in the treatment of myeloma, lymphoma and associated disorders. He is a co-chair of the Thames Valley Regional Myeloma multi-disciplinary team meeting as well as the clinical lead for late phase clinical trials for Haematology at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. In his trial capacity, he has a wide-reaching overview and understanding of clinical trials and the development of novel therapeutics and acts as a primary investigator for trials in myeloma and lymphoma. He was appointed as an honorary senior lecturer in Haematology at The University of Oxford in October 2016. He is also a trustee of the charity WMUK (Waldenstoms Macroglobulinaemia UK) and has a special interest in the management of this disorder. He also has wide experience in the full range of consultative haematology.
