Mr Alasdair Gordon qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1987. He held junior training posts in obstetrics and gynaecology at several teaching hospitals in London before training in general surgery, obtaining the FRCSEd, and prior to a registrar rotation between UCLH and the Whittington hospitals, where he obtained the MRCOG. He also carried out research into new treatments for fibroids at The National Medical Laser Centre. Mr Gordon was appointed consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust in October 2000; formerly Clinical Director, he is now the lead for gynaecology. Mr Gordon is an accredited colposcopist and has maintained his interest in the management of uterine fibroids. He regularly carries out Nice approved treatments for the treatment of heavy periods (Thermachoice ablation), stress urinary incontinence (TVT), and ectopic pregnancy (Laparoscopic). He runs a rapid access clinic for the investigation and diagnosis of suspected gynaecological cancers, and has a dedicated minimal access surgery list weekly to train junior doctors.
