Dr Dover qualified in medicine in 1982 from the University of Birmingham. He is a lecturer in medicine and a senior registrar for the University of Liverpool. He a consultant physician and gastroenterologist at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow, and Gartnavel General Hospital. Dr Dover received a M.D in 1996 from the University of Birmingham.
