Dr Mairs is a specialist in treating intestinal and liver disorders. He trained at King’s College Hospital, London and in the South East Thames Region. His training included all aspects of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. This included Intensive Care, Coronary Care and Acute Medicine. His specialist gastroenterology training was completed at King’s Liver Unit and at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London. He was appointed as Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at Darent Valley Hospital in January 2004 and is the Clinical Lead for Nutrition. He conducts research into Barrett’s oesophagus.
