Dr Debabrata (Deb) Majumdar was appointed as Consultant Gastroenterologist at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital in January 2014. He is currently the Hepatobiliary lead in the hospital, also leading in development of Barrett’s oesophagus service and introduction of non-invasive assessment of liver disease (Fibroscan). He has a particular interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy), ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound. His clinical areas of interest include managing gastric and duodenal ulcers (and Helicobacter pylori infection), gastro-oesophageal reflux and Barrett’s oesophagus, inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease) and liver and pancreatic diseases.
