Dr Adrian Barnardo studied Medicine at the University of Nottingham, during which time he also completed a BMedSci(Hons). He qualified in 1994 and undertook Gastroenterology training at the Institute of Liver Studies, Kings College Hospital, Guys & St Thomas Hospital and Brighton & Sussex University Hospital. He undertook research into MARS therapy (liver assist device) and the haematological complications of liver disease whilst at The Institute of Liver Studies, Kings College Hospital. Dr Barnardo has presented the results of this and other research nationally and internationally and was awarded his MD in 2009 for this work. He undertook a prestigious Hepatology NTN at the Peninsula Liver Centre in Plymouth where he further developed his hepatological and endoscopic training.
