I qualified from Leeds medical school in 1984 and had my postgraduate training at Saint Mary's, Saint Bartholomew's and the Royal Marsden, London. I was appointed as a consultant in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery in 1997 and obtained a Silver National Clinical Excellence Award in 2011.
