Dr Samantha Hunt is a consultant dermatologist at Portsmouth St Marys NHS Trust. She trained at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine and after general medical rotations specialised in dermatology training at St John's Institute of Dermatology, St Mary's Hospital Paddington and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals. She has held her NHS consultant post for 7 years and has a cosmetic practice at SK:N Southampton. Dr Hunt is the lead consultant for psoriasis in Portsmouth running a specialist clinic once weekly and leading the phototherapy, systemic agent and biologic services. She has an interest in other generalized inflammatory skin disorders including eczema and acne. She also has experience in male and female genital dermatology. Dr Hunt has a wide range of experience in the management of sun related damage and skin cancers working in Portsmouth, where this is a major part of the workload. She is able to undertake minor surgical procedures for the management of skin cancers and for benign lesions. Dr Hunt enjoys teaching and is involved with teaching and training of medical students, dermatology trainees, nurses and local GPs; she also runs the local skin forum meetings for ongoing GP education.
