Dr Panoulas underwent his core medical training at Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals and his cardiology core training at Hammersmith Hospital, where he was appointed as a National Heart and Lung Institute (NIHR) academic clinical fellow (2010-2013). He also undertook an interventional cardiology fellowship at San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milan, Italy (2013-2014) and subsequently was a North-West London interventional fellow for two years at Hammersmith Hospital (2014-2016), Imperial College NHS Trust. From 2014-2016 he was an NIHR Walport clinical lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.
