Dr Daniel Blackman is a cardiologist subspecialising in interventional cardiology, who trained primarily in Oxford and Toronto. He treats patients with a broad spectrum of cardiological conditions - including chest pain, palpitation, arrhythmias, hypertension, and heart failure. His subspecialist areas of expertise are coronary artery disease - including coronary angioplasty - and valvular heart disease. He performs around 350 coronary angioplasty procedures per year. Mr Blackman introduced transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) to West Yorkshire, and leads the programme in Leeds. His main research interests are angioplasty for heart attack, and TAVI.
